American figure skater Ilia Malinin made history at the Grand Prix Final in Nagoya, Japan, becoming the first skater to land seven quadruple jumps in a single program, including a quad Axel.
The 21-year-old from Virginia set a new world record in the long program with a score nearly 10 points higher than his previous best, winning by nearly 30 points over Japan’s Kagiyama Yuma.
