A 43-year-old Florida man, Benjamin Donald Johnson, was arrested after a crash at a Davenport Publix led police to his truck, where they found multiple firearms, drugs, and a container labeled with a radioactive warning.
Johnson, who claimed to have a "dirty bomb," was forcibly removed from his vehicle and charged with hoaxing a weapon of mass destruction, falsely reporting a bomb, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
The container, confirmed to emit radioactivity, was identified as a Moisture Density Gauge used for soil testing, with radiation levels lower than a medical X-ray.
Authorities also found cannabis, THC gummies, and tactical gear in the truck.
Johnson, who said he lived in the vehicle with his dog, remains in Polk County Jail.
