flag BYD is launching the TI 7, a plug-in hybrid SUV, in Australia in 2025 to expand its presence in the large SUV market.

BYD is preparing to enter Australia’s large SUV market with the TI 7, a Prado-sized plug-in hybrid SUV unveiled in Thailand. The five-meter-long vehicle, built on a monocoque platform, features a 1.5-liter petrol engine and dual electric motors, a 35.6kWh battery, and an estimated 200km electric range under Chinese testing standards. It includes off-road driving modes and a 600mm wading depth but is not designed as a full off-roader. Inside, it offers a 15.6-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital cluster, and optional rear screens. BYD Australia plans a major push in the SUV and passenger vehicle segment in 2025, with the TI 7 expected to play a key role.
