The Border Management Authority (BMA) held a December 7, 2025, briefing outlining enhanced security and streamlined processes for the 2025/26 festive season, including extended port hours and stricter checks.

The BMA intercepted 8,135 individuals attempting illegal entry, primarily from Lesotho, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Eswatini, and seized 15 suspected stolen vehicles, drugs, counterfeit goods, and illicit items.
Efforts include traceable stamps, drone surveillance, and collaboration with Home Affairs and Transnet.
