A new Australian poll shows rising public concern over the cost of living, with 42% citing it as their top issue, and growing frustration with high migration levels, with 53% saying the current rate is too high.
Support for the Coalition has dropped to a record low of 26%, while One Nation’s backing surged to 14%, its highest ever, driven by demands to pause immigration until housing supply improves and to limit migration to skilled workers.
A majority also favor restricting immigration to English-speaking countries.
