Arizona Cardinals flew with Air Force pilots to honor service members and observe F-35 refueling at Luke Air Force Base.
On December 6, 2025, Arizona Cardinals players and staff joined the Arizona Air National Guard and the 161st Air Refueling Wing at Luke Air Force Base for a Salute to Service event, flying at 25,000 feet to observe the refueling of 12 F-35 jets in two hours.
Players Trey McBride and Elijah Higgins, both with military family backgrounds, participated alongside teammates and representatives from veteran and military support organizations.
The experience highlighted the wing’s nearly 80-year role in Arizona, balancing local service with national defense.
