On December 6, 2025, Tamil Nadu sent 950 tonnes of relief supplies—including food, clothing, and medical items—to Sri Lanka to aid Cyclone Ditwah victims. Two Indian Navy vessels transported the aid from Chennai and Thoothukudi, coordinated by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. The shipment supports recovery after the cyclone killed 212 people, displaced nearly one million, and caused widespread flooding. India’s broader Operation Sagar Bandhu also provided airlifted bridges, trucks, and a field hospital that treated hundreds, with additional support from private donations of vehicles and funds.
