Singapore launches task force to boost disability support in jobs, living, and care, with goals by 2026.
A new government task force chaired by Minister of State Goh Pei Ming has been launched in Singapore to improve support for people with disabilities and their families, focusing on employment, community living, and affordability.
Announced by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on December 5, 2025, during the opening of Vista—a new four-storey extension to the Enabling Village—the task force will develop recommendations by 2026.
The expansion includes facilities like the Independent Living Studio, Enabling Academy, and a Future Care Planning Resource Centre, aiming to strengthen post-18 support, upskilling, job placement, and long-term care planning.
The initiative reflects a national push to ensure inclusive employment and societal participation, with a focus on a “longer runway” for individuals transitioning from school to work.
