Oxfordshire launches UK’s largest kerbside EV charging program, installing 500 street-level chargers for residents without off-street parking.
Oxfordshire is rolling out the UK’s largest cross-pavement EV charging program, installing up to 500 kerbside charging points for residents without off-street parking.
Backed by a £700,000 government grant and part of a £4.3 million initiative, the project uses ODS’s Gul-e system to connect homes to street-level chargers.
Applicants must install a compliant home charger, and sites are assessed for safety and suitability.
The effort aims to support EV adoption among about one-third of local households lacking driveways, with at least 1,200 public chargers planned by 2027.
Early users have praised the system’s reliability.
