A North Charleston man was arrested for swinging a large sword and hammer in a neighborhood, surrendering peacefully without injuries.
A 47-year-old North Charleston man, Joshua Dorman, was arrested Thursday after allegedly swinging a three-foot-long medieval-style sword and hammer in a residential neighborhood near Spencer Creek Woods Road.
Police responded to resident reports of the disturbance, arriving just before 4:30 p.m. Dorman surrendered peacefully after stabbing the sword into the ground and was taken into custody without incident.
He was charged with aggravated breach of peace and threatening the life of a public official.
No injuries were reported, and he was transported to the Al Cannon Detention Center.
The incident remains under investigation.
