A Midland police officer faces theft charges for allegedly stealing items and money during raids, with a trial set for January 2026.
A Midland police officer, Robert Davies, 48, appeared in Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on December 5, 2025, charged with three counts of theft related to his duties, including stealing cash, jewellery, and a power tool from a Redditch property during a November 2023 drugs raid and £180 belonging to The Crown in February 2025.
The allegations stem from an investigation by Warwickshire Police’s anti-corruption unit, referred to the IOPC in October 2024, with charges authorized by the CPS under the Theft Act 1968.
Davies, a 21-year veteran and former exhibits officer, did not enter a plea and was granted unconditional bail until a January 7, 2026, hearing.
