The Lake District ranks above Snowdonia in Beavertown’s Cosy Pub Index, which measures cozy pubs via Google Maps listings, with 145 compared to Snowdonia’s 123. Cumbria, home to the Lake District, ranks sixth nationally with 180 cozy pubs, behind Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Cheshire, Cornwall, and North Yorkshire. The index identifies a "cosy pub corridor" across the Midlands and South, stretching from Cheshire to the Cotswolds. Glasgow outperforms Edinburgh in Scotland, and Dorset surpasses Devon in the South West. The findings highlight the UK’s enduring pub culture as a winter retreat, emphasizing warmth and community.
