India transferred seven homegrown defense technologies to its armed forces on Dec. 2, 2025, under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
On December 2, 2025, India’s DRDO transferred seven indigenous defense technologies to the armed forces under the Technology Development Fund scheme, including a seawater battery, waterjet propulsion system, high-voltage power supply, tide-efficient gangway, VLF-HF systems, and a lithium recovery process.
Developed with Indian industry and tri-services input, the innovations support import substitution and advanced capabilities.
The DRDO’s Empowered Committee also approved 12 new projects in aerospace, naval, and electronic warfare domains, emphasizing faster execution, streamlined acquisition, and policy alignment to accelerate deployment.
DRDO Chairman Samir V Kamat reaffirmed the government’s commitment to indigenous defense innovation under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision.
