Edmonton police warn public about recently released sex offender Larry Stanford, citing risk of reoffending.
Edmonton police have issued a public alert about 74-year-old Larry Maxwell Stanford, a convicted sex offender recently released from prison, citing "reasonable grounds" to believe he may commit another sexual offence.
Stanford, who has a history of violent crimes including a 2017 sexual assault conviction, aircraft hijacking, and attempted murder, is under a court-ordered supervision plan with strict conditions: a 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew, bans on alcohol, cannabis, and other intoxicants, and restrictions on contact with individuals with sexual offence records unless approved.
Police urge the public to contact them at 780-423-4567 if they have information about his whereabouts or activities.
