Carroll College’s therapy horses eased student stress during finals with a festive campus visit.
Horses from Carroll College’s anthrozoology program, including Lucas and Radar, brought holiday cheer and mental health support to students during finals week.
On Friday, the animals were walked across campus as students sang Christmas carols, creating a calming, joyful break.
Students described the experience as vital for stress relief, emotional stability, and connection, with many calling time with the horses their “happy place.” The program, which houses seven horses, emphasizes empathy, communication, and human-animal bonds as tools for well-being and personal growth during academic pressures.
