The Asian Development Bank has approved $61.8 million in Project Readiness Financing for three Pakistan development projects: $10 million for the Karachi-Rohri rail segment, $3.8 million for Quetta’s Bus Rapid Transit, and $48 million for water infrastructure in Balochistan.
The rail project, part of a larger $10 billion railway upgrade, aims to be completed by December 2028 to support the Reko Diq mining initiative.
The funds will support planning, design, and institutional reforms to accelerate implementation.
