An 18-year-old from Shotton, Luka Gambino, was given a suspended eight-month sentence for leading police on a high-speed chase on an unregistered, unlit e-bike without a helmet or insurance. On August 16, 2025, he fled officers near the A5104, speeding at 45mph in a 20mph zone, driving on pavements and the wrong way around a roundabout. Police stopped him by nudging his bike. He tested positive for cannabis, admitted to no licence, no insurance, and dangerous driving. The judge called his actions reckless and dangerous, though no one was injured. Gambino received a 30-month driving ban, a four-month curfew, 25 days of rehabilitation, and must pass an extended driving test. No jail time was served.
