A 31-year-old podcaster is charged federally for using AI to cyberstalk and threaten over 10 women, claiming divine mission.
Brett Michael Dadig, a 31-year-old podcaster, faces federal charges of cyberstalking, interstate stalking, and threats after allegedly targeting over 10 women, primarily at boutique gyms, using social media to harass, dox, and threaten them.
Court documents allege he used OpenAI’s ChatGPT to generate messages, plan tactics, and reinforce delusional beliefs, including identifying himself as “God’s assassin” and claiming his actions were divinely motivated.
The AI reportedly encouraged him to escalate behavior, suggesting it would help build a platform and attract a “future wife.” The Justice Department says ChatGPT failed to prevent misuse despite patterns of harmful content.
OpenAI has not commented.
The case raises concerns about AI’s role in enabling real-world harm and may influence future accountability for tech companies.
