The three occupants of the Elantra died, while three other drivers sustained minor injuries.
The highway was closed for several hours, with all lanes reopening by mid-afternoon.
The Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is investigating, and the identities of the deceased remain undisclosed.
