Boston picked up starter Johan Oviedo, reliever Tyler Samaniego, and catcher Adonys Guzman in a five-player swap with Pittsburgh. The Pirates get power-hitting outfielder Jhostynxon Garcia and pitching prospect Jesus Travieso. Oviedo, coming off Tommy John and a lat strain, logged a 3.57 ERA in nine 2025 starts and is viewed as a rotation gamble with upside. Garcia is expected to step straight into Pittsburgh’s left-field job.
