Hospice at Home West Cumbria has secured a £150,000 grant from Sellafield Ltd to provide 500 nights of free at-home palliative care over the next year. The funding supports the charity’s mission to deliver one-to-one, compassionate care to patients in their homes, helping them remain comfortable and dignified. As the only hospice in the region offering such services, it relies on fundraising to cover over £1.5 million in annual costs and served 251 patients with 9,138 hours of care last year. The grant ensures continued access to high-quality, free care for families across West Cumbria.
