Gunnedah approves $17.4M hotel project, set to open in 2028 with 70 rooms and 60 jobs.
A $17.4 million, 4.5-star hotel project in Gunnedah has received council approval after over two years, marking a major milestone for the Central Hospitality Group.
The three-story development, set to open in 2028, will include 70 rooms, a restaurant, bar, function spaces, and a gym, becoming the town’s first hotel of its kind.
Located on the eastern entrance, it aims to boost tourism and events by filling a local hospitality gap.
Adjustments to restaurant and function room capacity were made to meet parking requirements, with the restaurant operating at 50% when the function room is full.
The project is expected to create over 100 construction jobs and 60 permanent positions, with design by EJE Architecture and construction yet to begin due to delayed approvals.
