Buster Faulkner, Georgia Tech’s offensive coordinator, is leaving to become Florida’s offensive coordinator under first-year head coach Jon Sumrall, according to multiple reports. Faulkner, a Broyles Award semifinalist in 2025, led Georgia Tech’s offense to top-15 national rankings in total offense and rushing, with a 7.0 yards-per-play average. He previously helped develop Georgia’s national championship quarterbacks, including Stetson Bennett, and has a strong track record in quarterback development. His departure comes despite a contract extension signed in July 2025, and he will owe Georgia Tech 100% of his $1.25 million base salary. Florida’s offense ranked 102nd nationally in 2025, prompting the hire as a key move to revitalize the unit. The Gators have not officially confirmed the hiring.
