Delhi High Court orders India to help actor Celina Jaitly contact her detained brother in Abu Dhabi.
The Delhi High Court directed India’s Ministry of External Affairs to facilitate communication between actor Celina Jaitly and her brother, retired Major Vikrant Jaitly, detained in Abu Dhabi since 2024, ordering the MEA to inform him of her desire to speak and arrange contact via the TAMM app or another method.
A nodal officer has been appointed to ensure coordination, and the court mandated a fresh status report ahead of a December 23 hearing.
Jaitly, who has been unable to contact her brother for over a year due to her non-UAE citizenship, expressed emotional relief, citing concerns over his health and lack of legal and medical support.
The court acknowledged her brother is alive and in good health and emphasized the MEA’s duty to protect Indian citizens abroad.
