Copyright Licensing New Zealand (CLNZ) has awarded $75,000 in grants to 19 projects across New Zealand, part of its 2025 Contestable Fund.
The funding supports writers, publishers, and educators, with a focus on underrepresented voices, accessibility, and creative innovation.
A record 107 applications were received, reflecting strong demand and high-quality submissions.
Projects include literary initiatives, publications by Māori and Pacific storytellers, programs for disabled authors, and community writing events.
The grants are funded by licensing revenue and administered by CLNZ, a not-for-profit jointly owned by the Publishers Association of New Zealand and the New Zealand Society of Authors.
