Attorney General Bondi orders federal crackdown on antifa and extremist groups, prioritizing investigations and prosecutions.
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi has directed federal agencies to intensify investigations into the antifa movement and other extremist groups, ordering the FBI to compile a list of organizations potentially involved in domestic terrorism.
The memo, obtained by Reuters, calls for prioritizing prosecutions of domestic terrorism, including alleged tax crimes by such groups, and instructs the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Forces to focus on threats tied to political agendas like opposition to law enforcement, open borders, or radical ideologies.
Agencies are to review intelligence from the past five years, including incidents involving doxxing of law enforcement and threats against Supreme Court justices, and develop strategies to disrupt networks.
The Justice Department will prioritize funding for state and local prevention programs, and the FBI will enhance its tip line for public submissions.
The move follows a prior presidential directive labeling antifa as a terrorist organization.
The Justice Department has not commented.
