Kay, a 2016 first-round draft pick by the Mets, posted a 1.74 ERA and 57.8% ground ball rate in 155 innings during the 2025 season, showcasing a resurgence in command and effectiveness.
The deal includes a $10 million club option for 2028 and a $2 million buyout, and the White Sox view him as a short-term starter to bolster their rotation while developing young talent.
