Steve Cropper, the influential guitarist and founding member of Booker T & the M.G. 's, has died at age 84. A central figure in the Stax Records sound, he helped shape Southern soul, R&B, and rock with his distinctive rhythm guitar work on hits like "Green Onions" and "(Sittin' on) the Dock of the Bay."
