Services from London Paddington to Plymouth or Penzance will be rerouted, adding at least 15 minutes to travel times, while limited weekday trains will run to Westbury or Castle Cary.
Routes via Castle Cary to Bristol Temple Meads or Weymouth remain unaffected.
Replacement buses will operate daily between Castle Cary and Taunton and weekends between Pewsey and Swindon.
Travelers are urged to check the National Rail website and allow extra time.
