Nathan McKeown faces new charges after allegedly abandoning his dog in a stolen car, leading to its death.
Nathan McKeown, 43, faces new charges in Queensland after his German shepherd, Arnie, was found dead in a Toyota Hilux in Fortitude Valley on November 17, 10 days after the vehicle was reported stolen.
Authorities allege McKeown left the dog in the car on November 7, then falsely reported it stolen the next day.
He now faces charges including injuring animals (causing death) by night, driving without a license, driving under influence, and obstructing police.
The case drew national attention, with public support and a petition for “Arnie’s Law” gathering over 96,000 signatures.
McKeown is due in Brisbane court later this month.
