Spanning nearly 7 km underground, it will pass under major rail lines, the Metro 3 line, and over 700 structures, including heritage buildings, with twin tunnels featuring two traffic lanes and emergency lanes, advanced safety systems, and AI-powered traffic management.
Targeted for completion by December 2028—six months ahead of schedule—the Rs 8,056 crore project, part of a larger regional transport network, will improve connectivity to Navi Mumbai International Airport and reduce congestion, fuel use, and pollution.
