Julie Mook pleaded guilty to violently dragging her friend by the hair in a parking lot, citing anger over a housing dispute.
Julie Mook, 58, of Warrawong, pleaded guilty in Wollongong Local Court on December 2, 2025, to assaulting her lifelong friend by dragging her by the hair across a Caltex service station parking lot on October 23, 2025.
The attack, captured on CCTV, left the victim with a split lip, bruised knees, and neck cuts after Mook struck her with a handbag, shoved her, and dragged her three meters.
Mook, reportedly angered by a failed housing arrangement for her homeless friend, threatened the victim with death before being apprehended.
Magistrate David Williams called the behavior “childish” and noted jail is typical for such violence, but sentenced Mook to a $500 fine and a nine-month community correction order.
