ICE arrests in North Carolina more than tripled from January 20 to mid-October 2025, reaching over 3,300 compared to about 1,200 in the same period in 2024, according to the Deportation Data Project.
The increase, which peaked in May, June, and July with over 400 arrests each month, primarily targeted men from Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Venezuela.
Most arrests occurred in Mecklenburg and Wake counties, with additional enforcement in 287(g) partner jails across Cabarrus, Henderson, and Gaston counties.
