A 17-year-old girl, Lainie Williams, died from multiple stab wounds at her home in Cefn Fforest, Wales, on November 13, 2025, during an alleged attack that also injured her mother, Rhian Stephens, who survived after hospitalization. The inquest, opened by Gwent Area Coroner Rose Farmer, confirmed the provisional cause of death as sharp force injuries. Lainie’s former boyfriend, Cameron Cheng, 18, has been charged with her murder, attempted murder of her mother, and possession of a bladed weapon, and is set to stand trial in May 2026.
