A man in his 70s, described as one of New Zealand’s most notorious criminals, has been charged with a 1988 sexual assault in Onehunga, Auckland, after the victim came forward in May 2025.
Police reopened the case using preserved evidence, and the charge was possible due to no statute of limitations for serious sexual offences.
