Walmart opens $350M dairy plant in Georgia to cut costs and boost supply chain control.
Walmart has opened a $350 million dairy processing plant in Valdosta, Georgia, its second owned-and-operated facility, to boost control over its supply chain and lower costs for private-label milk.
The 300,000-square-foot plant, creating over 400 jobs, produces milk for Great Value and Member’s Mark brands, supplying more than 650 stores across the Southeast.
It sources milk from local Georgia dairies, enhancing regional sourcing and supply resilience.
The expansion is part of Walmart’s broader strategy to increase direct control over key food products, with a third dairy plant planned in Texas by 2026.
