A University of Delaware student was arrested after a traffic stop revealed weapons, body armor, and detailed plans to attack the campus police.
Luqmaan Khan, 25, a University of Delaware student, was arrested after a Wilmington traffic stop led police to weapons, body armor, and a notebook detailing assault plans targeting the university’s police department, including a building diagram and a named officer.
Authorities seized multiple firearms, extended magazines, and a modified handgun classified as a machine gun from his vehicle and residence.
With no prior criminal record, Khan faces federal and state charges, including possession of a machine gun and large-capacity magazines, and was held on $107,200 bail before FBI custody.
Law enforcement credited the stop and rapid investigation with averting a potential attack.
The university confirmed Khan’s enrollment, noting he has been temporarily separated and offered counseling.
