They fled in a vehicle driven by Tony Charles Graham, 54, of East Maitland, who was caught on surveillance footage at a Warners Bay McDonald’s drive-thru minutes after the attack, where he ordered drinks and paid in cash.
Police used intercepted communications and the McDonald’s stop to identify and arrest Graham and another suspect, Scott Matheson, 44, of Bar Beach.
Graham pleaded guilty to arson and firearm charges, with sentencing set for February.
The building is expected to remain closed until at least 2027.
