Massachusetts trooper arrested for allegedly punching his underage child in August or September.

Massachusetts State Police trooper Michael Gagnon of Plympton was arrested on Nov. 25, 2025, on charges of aggravated assault on a child and domestic assault and battery. The alleged incident, reportedly occurring in late August or September, involved Gagnon allegedly punching his underage child in the face during a visit, according to the child’s account to a DCF caseworker. The child said Gagnon told him not to tell his mother and to claim a whiffle ball bat caused the injuries. The case was reported to DCF on Nov. 24 after the child’s mother noticed behavioral changes and sought medical advice. Gagnon was taken into custody at his home, posted $1,000 bail, and released the next day. The investigation, involving multiple agencies, remains ongoing with no further details released.
