Jammu and Kashmir High Court lifts five-year travel ban on PDP MLA Waheed ur Rehman Para, allowing domestic travel with notice to court.
The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has allowed PDP MLA Waheed ur Rehman Para to travel within India, lifting a five-year restriction that confined him to the union territory.
The division bench, comprising Justices Vinod Chatterji Koul and Sanjeev Kumar, modified his bail conditions, permitting domestic travel if he informs the trial court of his location and purpose.
Para, arrested in November 2020 on UAPA charges linked to alleged terror funding, had been granted bail in 2022 after the court found the evidence against him weak.
Despite this, he remained under travel restrictions, hindering his duties as an elected representative.
The latest order marks a significant step in restoring his mobility and rights.
