Five capybara pups born at New Jersey’s Cape May County Zoo are being monitored indoors due to cold weather.
The Cape May County Zoo in New Jersey has welcomed five new capybara pups born to mother Marigold, joining two older pups from another female, Buttercup.
All five babies share the same father, Goomba.
The newborns are being closely monitored and kept mostly indoors due to cold weather, with limited viewing from a bridge.
Buttercup’s month-old pups are visible before 2:30 p.m. daily.
The zoo, open 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (earlier closing on Thanksgiving), continues to attract visitors with its capybaras, the world’s largest rodents.
