Delhi High Court to rule on IRS officer’s bid to block Netflix’s 'Ba***ds of Bollywood' over defamation claims.
The Delhi High Court reserved judgment on a December 2, 2025, plea by IRS officer Sameer Wankhede seeking to block scenes from Netflix’s "Ba***ds of Bollywood," which he claims defame him.
Wankhede, linked to a 2021 drug case involving Aryan Khan, argues the series, produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies, is malicious satire targeting him and violates national honor laws.
He seeks Rs 2 crore in damages and a permanent injunction, citing harm to reputation and public trust.
Netflix and Red Chillies challenged the court’s jurisdiction, saying the case should be in Mumbai, and defended the show as protected satire.
The court will decide if the suit is properly filed in Delhi and whether the content crosses into actionable defamation.
