Aleutian Airways wins $8.4M federal contract to restore vital Alaska air service starting in 2026.
Aleutian Airways has been awarded a four-year federal contract to restore essential air service to St. Paul, Unalakleet, and St. Mary’s in Western Alaska, following Ravn Alaska’s shutdown and Kenai Aviation’s collapse.
The airline will begin three weekly round trips between St. Paul and Anchorage using Saab 2000 aircraft in early 2026, with service to the other two communities also starting then.

Aleutian will receive $8.4 million in initial federal funding, with annual increases, to ensure stable, affordable access for rural residents reliant on air travel for medical care, education, and supplies.
