A 19-year-old bartender from Cornwall won the Lake District cocktail championship with a pine-infused drink.
A 19-year-old bartender from Cornwall, Ollie George, has been named Lake District cocktail champion after winning a competition organized by the Lake District Hotels Association and LWC Drinks.
The final, held at Merewood Country House Hotel, featured seven finalists who had advanced after months of training and original cocktail presentations.
George, who works at Linthwaite House Hotel in Windermere, was crowned winner by a panel including representatives from LWC and Remy Cointreau.
His winning drink combined pine shrub soda, brandy, and pine shoot shrub.
As a prize, he received a two-night stay in Manchester to explore the city’s cocktail scene.
George, who recently moved to the Lake District, plans to build a long-term career in hospitality.
