Three men, including a Sydney bikie, face arson charges over two Bondi deli attacks linked to Iran, with trials set for February 2025.
A Sydney-based bikie, Sayed Mohammed Moowasi, 32, and two alleged accomplices, Wayne Dean Ogden, 41, and Juon Majok Mali Amuoi, 27, face new charges over two arson attacks on Lewis’ Continental Kitchen in Bondi in October 2024, allegedly linked to Iran.
Moowasi, a Nomads Outlaw Motorcycle Group member, is accused of directing the attacks, while Ogden and Amuoi are alleged to have participated in both incidents, with Ogden driving a stolen BMW during the second attack and Amuoi using a sledgehammer in the first attempt.
All three remain on bail, have not entered pleas, and are due in court on February 17, 2025.
The case follows the August expulsion of Iran’s ambassador amid allegations of involvement in the Bondi deli and a Melbourne synagogue attack, which Iran denies.
The court has emphasized that crimes fueled by racial or religious hatred will be severely punished.
