NRL player Lachlan Croker, 28, has retired due to ongoing concussion symptoms following a 2024 collision with teammate Josh Papali’i.
Severe and persistent symptoms, including dizziness, light sensitivity, and nausea, led to a medical retirement after another concussion in June 2025.
Croker, who played 126 NRL games—125 for Manly Sea Eagles and one for Canberra—will transition into coaching, taking over Manly’s SG Ball team with Brad Parker.
His retirement grants the club salary cap relief, potentially enabling an earlier move for South Sydney prop Davvy Moale.
Manly will begin the 2026 season with Jake Simpkin at hooker.
Croker’s final game was a loss to Gold Coast in round 15.
