New Zealand is expanding urgent care access in Lower Hutt and Dunedin ahead of Christmas, with a 24/7 service launching in Dunedin on December 17, 2025, and expanded daytime hours beginning in Lower Hutt on December 1.
The $164 million, four-year government investment aims to ensure 98% of residents can access urgent care within one hour of home.
