A new Sarnia-Lambton program links high school students with local employers for training and jobs in key industries.
A new program called Skill Up, launched by the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership, connects high school students in grades 11 and 12 with local employers to help retain youth in the region.
It offers free safety training through BASES, granting a three-year certification, and includes an industry innovation challenge at Lambton College where about 100 students engage with employers in agriculture, manufacturing, and construction.
The initiative, open to 25 students with an extended application deadline, aims to build career pathways through co-op placements and future jobs, part of a broader effort to strengthen the local workforce.
Feedback will guide future expansion.
