A new art installation honoring the 14 victims of the 2024 New Orleans terror attack has been unveiled on Bourbon Street.
A temporary art installation called "Second Line in the Sky" has been unveiled on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, featuring over 800 handcrafted flags with victims' names and images, honoring the 14 people killed in the January 1, 2024, terror attack.
The tribute, inspired by Mardi Gras Indian and brass band traditions, spans three blocks and will remain through January 18.
Created by Katy Casbarian and Studio West, it was funded by private groups and attended by state and city officials.
The memorial supports healing and unity, while a state commission works on plans for a permanent site, with recommendations due by April.
