Kerala High Court orders BYJU’S, GLAS, and EY officials to appear Dec. 5 over contempt allegations related to blocked overseas asset transfers.

The Kerala High Court has ordered key figures from BYJU’S, GLAS Trust, and EY India to appear in person on December 5, 2025, over allegations of contempt for allegedly violating a May 21, 2025, court order blocking transfers of overseas subsidiaries like Epic! Creations and Osmo. Petitioners claim U.S. enforcement actions continued using the same debt GLAS relies on in India, risking double recovery. A counter affidavit by BYJU’S co-founder Riju Ravindran alleges critical foreign assets were omitted from insolvency filings, distorting asset valuations, and raises concerns about EY’s undisclosed prior work with both BYJU’S and GLAS, along with the Resolution Professional’s ties to EY’s office. The petition seeks investigations by the SFIO and CBI, protection for foreign assets, and a ₹158 crore contribution to a court-escrow account. EY and GLAS have not responded.
